Express Entry

Express Entry is an electronic system used to manage applications from skilled workers who want to become a permanent resident of Canada. This is the most popular way for newcomers looking for a dream life in Canada. This system comprises some of the major immigration programs for federal and provincial immigration. Those who are eligible to apply for permanent residency in Canada have to submit your profile on the Canadian government's website. And based on your eligibility, after being evaluated, you are ranked according to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). After calculating your CRS Score, and based on that result, you may be invited to apply for Permanent Residency in a draw. Higher the rank or score, higher the chances to receive an invitation. Express Entry is the easiest and most convenient way for a qualified and eligible person to immigrate to Canada.

Express Entry system includes some of the major immigration programs for federal and provincial
immigration such as:

Federal Skilled Worker (FSWP)

01

Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTP)

02

Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

03

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP).

04

Before applying for any of these programs using Express Entry, you have to qualify by gaining 67 or more points on a 100-point scale system. The selection factors are below:

Language Skill Maximum Point is 28
Education Maximum point – 25
Work Experience 15 Points (Skill type 0, A or B accepted)
Age 12 points
Arranged Employment in Canada 10 points
Adaptability 10 points

These selection factors evaluate the interested applicant’s eligibility for any one of the immigration programs listed above. If your score is more than or equal to 67 points, you may qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker Program and if you score less than 67 points, you may not be qualified for the program.

How this Express Entry system works

Candidates who are eligible for the Express Entry program can create and complete the online profile in the Canada official website. They have to provide information about themselves such as current situation, skills, language ability, education and work experience in Canada or outside Canada. Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is used to find the eligible candidates for immigration to Canada through Express Entry system. Candidates will be given points for each of their situation like Age, marital status, level of education, Official Language Proficiency, Second Official Language, work experience and your ability to establish yourself in Canada, eg. relatives and friends or province nomination. Individuals will be ranked according to their situation and the chances of financial success, and the highest-ranked candidates will automatically receive a formal invitation to apply for permanent residency. If you have created the profile successfully for the Express Entry program but you are not invited to apply for permanent residency after a year, you may resubmit your profile with changes to the current situation and re-enter the pool. You have to make sure that you are still eligible for the program.

About

Canadian Experience Class (Express Entry)

IRCC launched the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) program in 2008 to strengthen the Canadian economy for dedicated and skilled workers who are currently in their status as temporary residents. This program has brought a big opportunity for those foreign workers and international graduates who want to obtain permanent residence status. This program has grown up into one of Canada's largest immigration pathways for skilled workers and international students. Canada is certain that skilled workers or international students who completed their program successfully and obtained work permits have a major advantage by integrating into the Canadian job market since they have previously lived in the country.

To be eligible under Canadian Experience Class, you must meet the following requirements.
  1. You have to meet the Minimum language levels, CLB 7 for Skill type 0 or A jobs or CLB 5 for Skill Type B jobs under the NOC.
  2. You have to get a minimum work experience of 12 months of skilled work experience or equivalent part-time (1560 hours) in Canada, no more than the last three years of your application for PR under Canadian Experience Class. Your work must meet acceptable conditions and the requirements of the National Occupation Classification.

Under this program IRCC has not mandated that you should have enough education requirements either in Canada or outside Canada for becoming eligible for CEC. Another benefit of the CEC is that candidates who succeed under this program need not have to demonstrate to IRCC that they have enough settlement funds to support themselves financially upon obtaining permanent residence. They can remain in Canada throughout the application process.

The important point to remember during your application is that you have to plan to live and work outside of the province of Quebec. However, if you have Canadian experience in Quebec, and want to settle in Quebec, you can apply to Quebec Experience class.

About

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) allows Canadian provinces and territories to nominate individuals across the world who want to immigrate to Canada. They must be interested to settle in a particular province where he or she is nominated. Canada has ten provinces and three territories. Each province/territory in Canada has its own programs (except for Quebec & Nunavut). The key purpose of the PNP is to extend the benefits of immigration across Canada. In early ages, most of Canada's immigrants were settled in Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia. After the launch of the PNP program, Canada has seen more immigrants in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Nova Scotia. These provinces have enjoyed more success by introducing the various PNP programs.

The provinces and territories participating in Provincial nominee programs have made an agreement with Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to select their own immigrants to meet their needs for their labor market needs or business, ensuring the success of their economic establishment. Almost all PNPs created a minimum of one Express Entry aligned with the federal immigration stream.

If you want to qualify under the Provincial Nominee Program, you need to obtain a sponsorship or nomination from the province where you want to immigrate. The Selection criteria and application procedures may vary with each province/territory.

People are choosing Provincial Nominee Programs to obtain Permanent Residence mainly because of:
  1. They do not have enough CRS points to get the Invitation (ITA). Once you meet the selection criteria of any province and get a nomination from that province, straight away you get 600 points in CRS and will automatically receive the ITA.
  2. Sometimes they were already in that province either finishing their international studies or working temporarily and thus lead in qualifying under some provincial nominee programs.
  3. More than 80 immigration programs are currently with PNP.

Exploring the below listed links will give you detailed information about different Provincial Nominee Programs. World Wide Visa Consultant team is always there to help you with further information about the PNP.

About

Caregiver Program

Canada is one of the countries that acknowledges the vital efforts and works achieved through caregivers. Caregivers are the employees who continually offer help to the Canadian children, seniors and others who need care. Now the new Canada Caregiver Pilot Programs introduced by the government of Canada are accepting applications under Home Child Care Provider and Home Support Worker Pilots, effective from June 18, 2019. The Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot help for caring children and caring for people with high medical needs. These programs provide eligible caregivers a pathway to permanent residence once they have acquired two years of Canadian eligible caregiver work experience. This program doesn’t require you to get an LMIA for hiring a foreign national. So, it’s easier for the employer to hire caregivers.

Eligible Caregiver work experience
  • Those caregivers with work experience in NOC 4411 will be eligible for permanent residence through the Home Child Care Provider Pilot program. Remember experience gained from the foster parents will not be counted as experience.
  • Those caregivers with work experience in NOC 4412 will be eligible for permanent residence through the Home Support Worker Pilot. Remember housekeeping experience will not be considered as experience.

If you have 2 years (24 months exactly) of qualifying work experience, you and your family members might be eligible to apply for permanent residence through this program.

The visa officer verifies your credential and also verifies whether you are able or qualified to provide these services to Canadians.

What is the difference in-Home Child-Care Provider and Home Support Worker Pilots from the other work permits programs?

On applying with this program, IRCC will issue the eligible caregivers an occupation-specific work permit rather than an employer-specific work permit, which means caregivers will have the freedom to change employers if they are not satisfied with the current employer. In addition to these benefits, the big bonus is that the family members of caregivers working in Canada will be eligible for open work permits or sometimes even study permits .

Every year Canada accepts 2750 applications under each pilot and a total of 5500 applications for both of this program. Check with your World Wide Visa Consultant consultant or visit Canada's official website for current updates of this program.
